caroline benge LSDC

Profile

Caroline's interest focuses on creating textural surfaces on her fabrics, which are then manipulated into three dimensional forms.  She creates seed pods using elements from nature's ingenious designs for survival, taking a specific feature from one species and using in in another.  The result is a colourful and textural interpretation of  seed pods, and her finished fantasy pieces aim to reflect the intricacy and wonder of nature.

She enjoys experimenting with different media from sculptured painted tissue paper, upholsterer's fibre to dry felting, applique and 'burning' to redefine the language of textiles.
